Mr. Strode our STEM I and AgriScience teacher, was invited to bring two of his STEM students to the annual UTM Engineering Banquet, Tuesday night, at the Russell Duncan Ballroom at the campus of UTM. Dresden High School student attendees were Freshmen Kynlee Dean and Tess Ogg.
The event was held for UTM Senior Engineering students to showcase projects to industry sponsors, potential employers, prospective students and professors. Kynlee and Tess were exceited to see that many of the senior projets on display were advanced types of the same STEM projects they, and other students, have worked on and completed in their STEM classes with Mr. Strode. Projects such as Bridge Construction Engineering, Inventions and Designs to prevent/withstand natural disasters, and even projects based off of the importance/usage of Simple Machines!
What an amazing opportunity for our students to see the skills they are learning as freshmen in high school put to use at the collegiate and industry level!
